Journey - Quilt of the Week

"Journey," 40" x 30", made by Pam Geisel

This piece is titled "Journey" and I like to imagine the three black triangles on the left moving up and then down through the dark part on the right, following the four red triangles which then circle around as if they are following the black triangles.

The piece is quilted with black thread and the quilting lines are 1/4" apart. Moving away from the dark part, there is yarn couched on the quilting line with the yarn pieces moving farther apart, like ripples in a pond.

The dark part of the quilt is a fabric mosaic which is small pieces of fabric and threads covered with tulle and quilted in place.

This is me with the quilt at the Bill Franz: Behind the Scenes exhibit at the K12 Gallery & TEJAS in 2017. It was also included in the Best of 2017, Ohio Designer Craftsmen's traveling exhibit and in the Winter 2020 issue of Art Quilting Studio magazine.

Because this is the Quilt of the Week, it is 10% off the original price of $1400 through 7/4/21 if you purchase directly from me. Details can be found here.
