Back in 2022 I made three art quilts (Women's Work, Half the Sky, and Peace Wheel) that used some granny squares that my grandmother had made.
For this piece I layered batting and sheer fabric between two granny squares and hand embroidered hearts on both sides using different colored variegated embroidery floss then I attached the five mini quilts with different colored glass beads.
The piece is designed to be hung like a mobile and it spins gently with a breeze.
