My art quilt "Sunflowers at Whitehall Farm" is included in the "Wild Lands, Wild Life," the 22nd annual art quilt exhibit at Aullwood Audubon Center, located at 1000 Aullwood Rd. in Dayton, Ohio. The show runs from June 28-Aug. 24 and there will be an artist reception on Su, July 13 from 2-4p. The center is open M-Sa from 9a-5p and Su from 1-5p. There is a $5 admission fee that allows access to the center and also to the farm.

Bird Art Auction and Art Stroll this Friday, June 20 in Yellow Springs

"Feathering the Nest" quilted birdhouse, 8.75" x 10.5

This lovely little quilted birdhouse has been donated to the "Bird Art Auction" that will take place this Friday, June 20, at the Yellow Springs Art Council's gallery in conjunction with the opening reception of Talitha Greene's photo exhibit  “Gone To The Birds: Featuring Glen Helen Raptor Center Birds.”

The Bird Art Auction will feature 2D and 3D bird artwork made by local artists. Fifty percent of the proceeds from each sale will go to support the birds and fifty percent will go to each donating artist.

The reception will also feature a blues band on the outdoor stage, refreshments from the Meadowlark Restaurant (of course!) and Dino's Cappuccinos. The art auction starts at 7:30 pm.

This all happens during the Yellow Springs Art Stroll, when the downtown galleries stay open late. Other galleries that will be open are include the Village Artisan Gallery, the new Peeps in the Park art panels that are on the outside of the Village Artisans building, Would You Could You in a Frame, the John Bryan Community Pottery (which will also feature some quilts as well as pottery) and more.

"Early Morning Nine Patch" in "Art We Use" exhibit

My art quilt "Early Morning Nine Patch" is included in the "Art We Use" exhibit at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Oh. This is a national exhibition of objects both everyday and special with 70 pieces from all over the country, including one from Alaska.

The Dairy Barn is located at 800 Dairy Lane in Athens, Ohio. The show runs from June 20-Sept 1 and there will be an artist reception on Fri., June 20. The gallery is open T-Sa from noon-5p and is open until 8p on Thursdays.

Yellow Springs Street Fair this Saturday

The Yellow Springs Street Fair is this Saturday, June 14. We'll be in booth #177 (if you're facing the Little Art Theatre, were to the right). Along with my artwork, we'll have homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, both large and the adorable individual size, and copies of "Cinderbox Road," a collection of short stories written by Scott Geisel.

The Street Fair goes from 9a-5p. If you're coming from out of town, there are two shuttles available with parking: at the Yellow Springs High School if you're coming from I-675 and at Young's Jersey Dairy if you're coming from the north.

My art quilt "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" which features the interior and exterior views of 5/3rd Field, where the Dayton Dragons play, is included in the 20th Annual Juried Landscape Competition The View at the Rosewood Arts Centre Gallery, located at 2655 Olson Dr. in Kettering. The show runs from June 8-July 11. The gallery is open M-Th from 8a-9p, F from 8a-6p, and Sa from 9a-3p. There will be an artist reception this Su, June 8 from 2-4p.
